Every so often A2Dominion ask me to take some photographs of their residents to add to their photo library. This means that when they need photographs for newsletters, websites, leaflets etc they have a pool to draw from. Of course, they could use the usual stock libraries, but the images are much more relatable if they are taken in A2Dominion homes and feature real residents. Today I was taking photographs of older people and we smiled and laughed all day!
Phoenix Community Housing is London’s only resident-led housing association and I am proud to have photographed their journey for the last ten years. All Phoenix residents have the chance to have a say on their services and influence their plans for the future. Every event is an opportunity for staff to consult with residents and none more so than the AGM.
I was out in the sun last week taking photographs of Phoenix Community Housing's repairs team, whilst they continued with their days work.
A2Dominion take great pride in their newsletters for residents and this extends to the care they take when planning the photoshoot. It is always such a pleasure to be asked to take photographs for them. I know that the day will be well planned and we'll come away with some great shots. Often we try to base ourselves in one location and ask residents to come to us, which maximises the time spent taking photographs. Today we were at the Orchard Cafe on their new development, Green Man Lane, Ealing, which has lovely light. By using different locations, both inside and out, we were able to get a variety of shots to illustrate upcoming articles in the newsletter. We were also able to visit an art class which was happening in the upstairs room.
I was lucky enough to be one of the first people to see this shiny new cafe today. On A2Dominion's Green Man Lane Estate, it will be run as cafe and community hub.
It was my pleasure to take the photographs of senior staff of the new housing association Optivo. Formed from AmicusHorizon and Viridian the new association is now one of the largest housing providers in the UK. We took photographs in different locations, with different backgrounds so that each person has a variety of shots to choose from.
The Orchard Cafe opened today. Having taken photographs before opening it was great to go back and see it full of people and thriving.
Another great day with A2Dominion. These shoots are always so well organised, so we get a real variety of shots in just one day. Afterwards they join their stock library so they have plenty of images to choose from for their newsletters, website, posters and social media campaigns.
For the third year running I was asked to photograph the PlaceShapers Conference. It's always such a positive day, packed with representatives from organisations that are a force for good in our society. As well as documenting the event, we took the opportunity to take photographs of the PlaceShapers Board.
I was back with AmicusHorizon's fantastic Families on our Doorstep project today. This time on the Isle of Sheppey for a morning of craft and family fun.
I'm Victoria and I photograph people.
